LIV Golf sued over unpaid invoices tied to broadcast technology
A Canadian technology supplier says LIV Golf owes more than $1 million for broadcast features used in the league’s coverage.
LIV Golf is facing a lawsuit from Mobii Systems Group Ltd., a Canadian technology company that says it was not paid for broadcast services used by the league. The case, reported Monday, concerns features marketed as “Any Shot, Any Time.”
According to ESPN, Mobii says the amount at issue is more than $1 million and includes unpaid invoices and lost revenue. The company supplied technology for LIV’s broadcast product.
The dispute adds to scrutiny of the Saudi-backed golf circuit’s business operations as it continues to build out its media and commercial model. LIV has not publicly responded in the material provided.
The lawsuit was filed in the United States, where LIV has been expanding its presence through television and streaming coverage.
