Two Reform UK officials leave posts after undercover donations report
Reform UK says it has launched an internal inquiry after a Channel 4 investigation prompted the departure of two aides to Nigel Farage.
Two senior Reform UK officials have stepped down after a Channel 4 News investigation raised questions about how the party handled donations, according to the party and media reports on Friday. The departures came as Reform opened an internal inquiry into the allegations.
The officials were identified as Dan Jukes and James Orr, both aides to party leader Nigel Farage. Reform said the pair had left their roles while the party examined the claims.
Channel 4 reported that undercover journalists filmed people linked to the party discussing ways to get around rules on foreign donations. The broadcaster said the material involved a supposed supporter and a wealthy American father described as an impermissible donor.
The investigation also said about £30,000 of polling commissioned by Reform had been paid for in a way that benefited the party. The Electoral Commission said it was in contact with police and was reviewing the information, while Reform said it was looking into the matter.
