The group said attendance by so-called music tourists increased 4.8% from the previous year. It linked the growth to major tours and events, including Oasis’s reunion shows, Coldplay dates, Lana Del Rey performances and Beyoncé concerts.
UK Music said the increase in overseas visitors was a key factor behind the higher total. The figures cover live music travel across the country and include spending on tickets, transport, accommodation and related costs.
The report adds to evidence that large-scale touring acts continue to draw international audiences to Britain’s venues and festivals.
