Gianni Infantino will seek another term as Fifa president
Fifa has confirmed that Gianni Infantino plans to run again when the organisation holds its next presidential vote in March 2027.
Gianni Infantino will stand for re-election as Fifa president at the governing body's next congress in March 2027, the organisation said on Sunday. The vote is scheduled to take place in Rabat, Morocco.
Fifa did not give further detail on his campaign plans. The confirmation means Infantino, who has led world football's governing body since 2016, is set to seek another term in office.
His decision comes as he faces renewed scrutiny over his leadership. The Guardian reported that he has been under pressure from critics, including Uefa, after a proposal to sell stakes in some Fifa tournaments to private investors.
The election is due to be held at the 77th Fifa Congress on 18 March 2027.
