Nick Chubb announces retirement after eight NFL seasons
The former Pro Bowl running back said he is ending his career after injuries shortened his time in the league.
Nick Chubb, a four-time Pro Bowl running back who last played for the Houston Texans, announced his retirement on Friday night after eight NFL seasons. The 30-year-old made the decision public in a post shared online, according to reports from ESPN and CBS Sports.
Chubb spent most of his career with the Cleveland Browns, where he became one of the league’s top rushers before injuries slowed him. CBS Sports reported that repeated lower-body injuries played a major role in cutting short his career.
He was selected to the Pro Bowl four times and was widely known for his production in Cleveland before finishing his NFL run in Houston. Yahoo Sports reported that Browns fans had long viewed him as a favorite during his time with the team.
Chubb entered the league in 2018 and leaves after eight seasons, closing out a career that included several standout years and a late stint with the Texans.
