Apple cuts more than 200 jobs across Siri and Vision Pro teams

Apple is reducing staff on several product groups as it shifts resources away from some Siri and Vision Pro projects, according to reports.

Apple has cut more than 200 jobs across teams working on Siri and Vision Pro, according to reports on Friday. The reductions affect staff in the United States and come as the company reorders priorities inside its software and headset divisions.

Bloomberg reported that Apple has largely ended work on a Vision Pro gaming group and trimmed the team responsible for immersive content on the headset. The company also reduced roles tied to Siri and other software engineering work, the report said.

Apple confirmed to reporters that some positions are being affected, but did not give a full breakdown of the changes. The company said the moves reflect a shift in focus toward other initiatives.

The cuts add to pressure on two of Apple’s most closely watched product areas: its mixed-reality headset and its voice assistant. Vision Pro launched last year, while Siri remains a central part of Apple’s software ecosystem.
