Apple video appears to show AirPods with built-in cameras
A clip found in a macOS Tahoe release candidate seems to reveal Apple testing AirPods that can use cameras with Visual Intelligence.
Apple may have accidentally shown off a version of AirPods with cameras in a video embedded in macOS Tahoe 26.7, according to reports from The Verge and Engadget on Tuesday. The clip appears to show a person wearing the earbuds and holding up a book so Apple’s Visual Intelligence feature can read the cover.
MacRumors said it found the footage inside the release candidate build, suggesting the company may have included the demo material before a public launch. The video is short and does not explain when, or whether, Apple plans to release the product.
The apparent leak adds to long-running speculation that Apple is exploring AirPods with additional sensing hardware. Apple has not commented on the clip, and the software build where it was found is still a pre-release version.
